Bright purple and fruity, this easy blueberry mojito is packed with white rum, fresh mint, lime juice, and lots of ice for a refreshing summer cocktail. Topped with club soda for a bit of fizziness, you’ll love every minty sip.
Why You’ll Love This Blueberry Mojito
Aside from being a 5-minute recipe, here are more reasons to make this blueberry mojito your go-to summer cocktail:
- Easy. Don’t worry if blueberries aren’t in season, you can use frozen ones if you’re craving a drink any time of year.
- Prep-friendly. Made up to several days in advance, this mojito is super party prep-friendly so you can pour a quick cocktail whenever you feel like it.
- Fruity. Loaded with blueberries, lime juice, and even a bit of compote if you’re up for it, this mojito recipe is as fruity as it gets.
- Refreshing. Icy, fruity, and perfectly minty, every sip is super refreshing— perfect for the summer!
What Do You Need For A Blueberry Mojito?
You only need a handful of ingredients for this refreshing summer cocktail, so check your fridge or freezer! Scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for full ingredient amounts.
- Fresh blueberries – Frozen blueberries are okay too use if you thaw them first.
- Simple syrup – Feel free to use raw honey or agave as well.
- Fresh mint leaves – It’s not really a mojito without mint, but you can always leave it out.
- Lime juice – Lemon juice will work in a pinch, but lime gives you the best zesty flavor.
- White rum
- Club soda – You can use sparkling water instead.
What Alcohol Goes In A Mojito?
White rum is the best kind for mojitos. It’s also referred to as “silver” or “blanco,” depending on the brand. Aged rum works too but it will give your cocktail a hint of smokiness.
Tips for Success
You’ll feel like a professional bartender with these easy tips that’ll take your mojito to the next level.
- Strain it. If you’re not into bits of fruit skin, strain the puréed blueberries for a smooth cocktail.
- Add food coloring. A drop of blue food coloring can make your blueberry mojito a beautiful electric blue.
- Use berries. A frozen mix of your favorite berries is a great substitute for blueberries in this recipe.
- Add compote. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of blueberry compote to each serving glass, add ice, and pour in the mojito for an extra fruity drink.
- Make minty ice cubes. Chop up 2-4 mint leaves and add them to ice cube trays. Fill them with water. Freeze completely and use the ice cubes to add extra flair to your drink.
Serving Suggestions
This blueberry mojito is best for a laid-back cocktail night. You can serve it with other mojitos like my Pineapple Coconut Mojito for some boozy, fruity variety. For a light bite, pair it with some easy appetizers like my Pulled Pork Crescent Ring and BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders. Crispy Baked Potato Wedges are a great option too. If you’d like a particularly simple but flavorful snack, you can always do a trio of dips: Avocado Salsa, Restaurant Style Salsa and Authentic Guacamole with Tortilla Chips.
Can I Make A Pitcher of Mojitos?
Yes! Double or triple the recipe ingredients and prepare the mojito in the pitcher without ice or club soda. When it’s time to serve, add the club soda into the pitcher and stir gently. Pour it into ice-filled glasses.
Can Blueberry Mojitos Be Prepared In Advance?
Yes! Skip the ice and club soda until right before serving. You can prepare the mojitos up to 3 days in advance.

Blueberry Mojito
Ingredients
- ¾ cup fresh blueberries
- 2 oz simple syrup
- 12 fresh mint leaves
- 2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 4 oz white rum
- 8 oz club soda
Instructions
- In a food processor or blender, puree blueberries until smooth. Set aside.
- In a large highball glass (16 oz), muddle together the simple syrup and mint leaves. (Muddling is a technique used to gently mash herbs and/or fruit to release the essence or juices. I recommend using a muddler for best results, however the back of a wooden spoon can be used in a pinch.)
- Divide the muddled simple syrup and mint leaves between two highball glasses. In each glass, stir in 2 oz rum, 1 oz lime juice and 2 to 3 tablespoons of the blueberry puree, to taste.
- Fill glass with ice and then top with club soda. Garnish with mint and blueberries, if desired.

What size mason jars did you use? Thanks!
Extra large mason jars!
I don’t drink but I’ll toss a glass of juice water etc etc etc…. . I’m another aunt too from Cali!
So delicious! Make me mouth-watering!
Could I make this in a jug and serve for a 30 person baby shower?
Nice post, i love blueberry mojito.
I don’t know how it tastes, but it looks amazing.
This looks so delicious! I linked it on my blog so I can be sure to make it this summer. (: Thanks for sharing this recipe!
This looks so tasty and fresh! I’m including this in a round-up recipe if that’s okay! :)
Your Blueberry Mojitos are gorgeous!!! I just love them!!
Now that’s a class variant, the recipe today’ve ever tried and it’s just great. Thanks for the post ;)
I made this last night…it was delicious! I used Bacardi blueberry rum but other than that, I followed your recipe and it turned out perfectly. The color was awesome too! Thanks for the great recipe.
Did you mix blue kool-aid for the picture? I just made the drink with pureed blueberries, and it looked nothing like the drink in your picture.
Ha! Nope, no Kool-Aid. Like I said above the recipe, you can add a drop of blue food coloring for a more potent blue color!
these are really pretty and sound good. I am confused about the simple syrup, though. Don’t you use real sugar to make simple syrup? I am from GA, too
Hi Paula,
Yep you do use sugar to make simple syrup! However, what he was saying is that instead of using simple syrup (where you melt the sugar into a syrup) – he uses regular granulated sugar in his!
I am not a rum drinker (I’m more of a vodka girl); this would definitely be the exception to the rule.
Made this today for the kickoff of my vacation. My blueberries were not very juicy, so I doubled them. We have had very poor berries so far up here in Canada.
But I really loved the taste! So fresh and festive!
Why is the sugar divided? Is half for the drink and half for the rim of the glass? I’m going to make one right now so I’ll try one way, but would like to know the correct way. Thanks!
Wow! These look wonderful and refreshing. I’m doing a roundup of blueberry recipes on my blog next week and would love to include this. Let me know if you have any concerns. Thanks!
I made these last weekend and loved em! Tasted so refreshing!
I added a few drops is blue food coloring just to make them pretty. :)
Love the drink but mine turned a purple colour and is not clear blue like picture, love the taste but was hoping for the same look.
Gorgeous photos and great recipe!
I just made these for my girlfriends and I and we loved them! I pureed them really fine and I had no issues like the commenter above me. Thanks for a great Friday cocktail recipe!!
These are stunning! Sounds like a really fun twist on a classic mojito!
I cannot get over how good these look! I’m not a huge drinker, but I love a good mojito. Blueberries can only make things better. I might just have to make these once the weather warms back up!
These pics are amazing ! I think I’ll try this recipe with raspberries from my own garden
This is the prettiest cocktail I have ever seen and it sounds delicious as well!
These are totally gorgeous! & I am totally JEALOUS. Please drink one (or 3) for me! ;)
Party in a glass. Wow girl!
This is one of the prettiest drinks I’ve ever ever seen!!
That photo is incredible! I am in awe…
Absolutely beautiful photography! I don’t love mojitos but my boyfriend does. I’ll file this under a drink to make for him!
These drinks are so pretty! I bet they taste even better :)
It is an adorable drink! It would be so cute in those blue anniversary jars Ball has out right now.
These are awesome, I love mojitos, something about how refreshing and ultra easy they can be to drink!
I can see these happening OFTEN during this sticky hot Texas summer. Often, indeed.
Lots of Blueberries this season!
these are gorgeous Jessica!! I bet they’re delicious too!!
I am obsessed with Blueberry mojitos!! These look perfect!
Blueberry mojitos?? Yes please!! Looks very refreshing
Sounds divine and makes for a perfect match between the blueberries and lime.
I am SO a Southern drink girl too and mojitos are my current obsession! Maybe it’s something to do with the explosion of fresh mint in my garden? My current fave is watermelon mojitos but I’ve never tried a blueberry combo…yet!
These are SO pretty!
I’m so excited when I see a new post from you and I couldn’t be more excited today! Too bad I don’t have a stocked liquor cabinet or I’d make one right now. Oh, and I love that the bartender had on a bow tie! Bow ties are so classy!
I adore Mojitos, and those are so stinkin gorgeous!! Bookmarking this one right now. I’ve never had a “flavored” Mojito… just the minty ones. Wow, the possibilities with different kinds of fruit are infinite!
I’ve never had a mojito before, but these are so pretty! I love all the greens and blues together. I’ll have to try one sometime!
Just yesterday I had the idea to make blueberry mojitos and here you are with these! It’s like you read my mind. :)
OH MY. This mojito must get in mu mouth ASAP! You know I’m going to be trawling the farmer’s market for the best blueberries this weekend. :)
I’m definitely a mojito girl and make a similar one to this recipe, except I love how you pureed the blueberries because I don’t and they usually get stuck in the straw, same with strawberries. Also, when I was in college and didn’t have a muddler I used to use an ice cream scoop to mash them in the glass. =P
This is just too cute, I love it!
These are so PRETTY!
Mojitos are MY favorite drink! Love the addition of blueberries.
Um, yes x infinity.
These are gorgeous! I love the blue. Nice twist on the original.
Gorgeous pics!!! These look delicious :)
Could these be any prettier or more refreshing looking!! I want to grab those blueberries off the screen!! These look so good! I am in awe!
Well I guess I’m a “Southern Hemisphere Drinker” too! This looks PERFECT to me!
Can I make this in a jug? I want to make it for a baby boy shower and i don’t want to make individual ones for 20 people. Any suggestions?
