Banana Pudding Cake

What is a banana pudding cake?

This easy recipe features soft, bouncy layers of banana cake, creamy layers of banana pudding, and fluffy whipped cream frosting. And it all starts with a box of cake mix!


You'll need cake mix, banana pudding, and a few other simple ingredients to make this easy recipe.

Step 1. Combine cake mix, instant banana pudding powder, oil, milk, banana, sour cream, and eggs.

Step 2. Evenly divide the batter between the 2 prepared cake pans.

Step 3. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes. Then place cakes on a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 4. Remove cooled cakes from pans and cut top off of one cake for a flat surface.

Step 5. Whisk the other box of banana pudding powder with cold milk and spread on top of first cake layer.

Step 6. Top the banana pudding layer with sliced bananas.

Step 7. Then add the second layer of cake.

Step 8. Beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Then spread frosting over the whole cake.

Step 9. Pipe swirls of whipped cream, and then top the cake with banana slices and vanilla wafers.
