WHY USE 7-up?

7-Up is a clever shortcut that adds moisture, lightness, and a touch of sweet and tangy flavor to the biscuits. Any lemon-lime soda will work, but using a sugar-free or diet soda may alter the taste.


Flour Baking Powder Salt Butter Shortening Sour Cream 7-UP

Step 1. Whisk together the dry ingredients, then cut in the butter and shortening.

Step 2. Gently incorporate the sour cream into the flour mixture.  Pour in the 7UP and stir gently.

Step 3. Place the dough on a floured surface. Using your hands, press it into a circle about 1 inch thick.

Step 4. Cut the biscuits out and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5. Bake for 13 minutes or until golden.  Serve warm.
