EASY APPLE CINNAMON MUFFINS

WHAT APPLES ARE BEST IN MUFFINS?

In general, you want an apple that’s somewhat tart. Granny Smith apples are famously good in baking, but Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, and McIntosh are also great.  Avoid sweet or bland apples, like Red Delicious. They won’t add much flavor when baked.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Step 1. In a small bowl, combine the dry topping ingredients.  Add the butter and mix until crumbly.

Step 2. In a separate bowl, mix the dry muffin ingredients together.  Set aside.

Step 3. In a large bowl, whisk together the wet muffin ingredients and both types of sugar.

Step 4. Add the dry muffin ingredients to the wet ingredients, gently mixing. Fold in the diced apples.

Step 5. Fill the prepared muffin tins about 3/4 full with batter.  Add topping and bake for 24-26 minutes.

Enjoy!  The cozy flavors and aromas of these muffins will fill up your house and make it feel like Fall.
