Lofthouse Cookies

why are they called lofthouse cookies?

Dave and DeAnn Stone started a cookie-baking business that sold to local grocery stores. The product took off, and became known by the company name: Lofthouse.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You'll need sour cream, baking soda, baking powder, and a few other simple ingredients to make this easy recipe.

Step 1. Stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Set aside.

Step 2. Cream the butter and sugar together, then beat in the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.

Step 3. Pour the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients, and beat on low speed.

Step 4. Divide dough into two pieces, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in the fridge.

Step 5. On a floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4-inch thickness.

Step 6. Using a 2 1/2-inch round cookie cutter, cut out your Lofthouse cookies.

Step 7. Carefully lift the cookies out and place onto prepared baking sheets.

Step 8. Bake the cookies for 7-8 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Step 9. For frosting, cream together butter and vanilla, and beat in powdered sugar. Then add in heavy cream.

Step 10. When cookies are completely cool, frost them and add your sprinkles.

Let the cookies sit overnight to allow the flavors to develop. Then it's time to dig in! Enjoy :)
