Instructions
In a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt butter, add onion and sausage.
Cook onion and breakfast sausage until the onions are translucent and the sausage is no longer pink, breaking apart the meat into crumbles as it cooks.
Sprinkle in flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk and continue cooking, stirring often, until the gravy reaches your desired consistency and thickness.
Add garlic powder, salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve warm over baked biscuits. Enjoy!
Notes
To Store: store your sausage gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. If you don’t use it within this time period, you can store it in the freezer for up to a month. To Reheat: Reheat your gravy in the microwave or on the stove. You will need to add a little extra milk, since the refrigerator will have thickened the gravy. Be aware this may change the flavoring a little bit, since it will “water” down the gravy. You may need to add in a little more salt with the milk.
