Green Bean Casserole, made from scratch, is a classic holiday side dish! Fresh green beans are tossed in a homemade cream of mushroom soup and then topped with crispy French’s fried onions.

Step 1. Boil the green beans until just tender.  Drain and set aside.

Step 2. Saute onions, garlic and mushrooms, then stir in the flour.  Add liquids and cook until thickened.

Step 3. Toss the green beans with the mushroom sauce and transfer to a casserole dish.

Step 4. Top with bread crumbs and fried onions.  Bake for 20 minutes, or until bubbly.

This dish really shines as part of a big holiday spread.  You can make it ahead to save time, too!
